Waterflow - Remote assessment of water stress


The WATERFLOW project aims to develop a remote and continuous mapping model of water stress in vineyards, based on Machine Learning, in real-time and remotely, in order to help producers make decisions, contributing to optimising water management and increasing sustainability, resilience and competitiveness of exploitations.

Since the proper management of water resources is a premise that is increasingly present in everyday life (a consequence of climate change), the WATERFLOW project arises from the need to overcome the constraints of using the Scholander chamber, despite it being the most reliable and widely used method today, such as the difficulty of handling it, the price of the equipment and the restricted time window, which make it impossible to measure water stress continuously.
