PRR - Vine & Wine EN: VineAdapt2Climate: Modelling and projecting different climatic events

ONGOING

The aim of this project is to support the transformation of the Portuguese wine sector into an intelligent environment that is resilient to climate change, encouraging carbon neutrality, through high-resolution climate projections, assessment of the risk and impacts of climate events and the definition of ad hoc guidelines capable of supporting company decision-making in medium and long term. This goal will be achieved by assessing the feasibility in a living lab context, combined with a consultancy service defining specific strategies for target vineyards, according to climate projections.
VineAdapt2Climate intends to provide the national sector with guidelines on adapting vineyards to projected climate change, particularly regarding cultural practices that depend on the behaviour of varieties and management systems.

This is a sub-project of the PRR Vine & Wine PT Mobilising Agenda - "Vine and Wine Portugal - Driving Sustainable Growth Through Smart Innovation", to be implemented between January 2023 and December 2025, coordinated by the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) in partnership with ADVID/CoLAB VINES&WINES, Symington Family Estates, S.A., Esporão, S.A.
